Mercy Corps Jobs in Ethiopia 2024
Concerning Mercy Corps
Leading international organization Mercy Corps was founded on the conviction that a better society is achievable. We collaborate to implement audacious ideas that help people overcome adversity and forge stronger communities from within during times of disaster and difficulty in more than 40 countries worldwide. Currently and going forward.
Since its establishment in 2004, Mercy Corps has been working in Ethiopia to advance audacious and revolutionary ideas. The organization closely collaborates with the public, business, and civil society sectors to create a more resilient nation while making sure that initiatives are impacted by and responsive to participants and stakeholders. With the introduction of Mercy Corps Global Strategy, Pathway to Possibility, the country office is ready to put its three-year plan into action. Its goal is to improve livelihoods for people affected by climate change and conflict by developing market systems that provide access to food, clean water, and better livelihoods so they can thrive in times of crisis. Our approach in Ethiopia is focused on four main outcomes: 1) People from economically marginalized backgrounds have better and more varied sources of income and assets; 2) Pastoralists, farmers, and households have access to food that is produced sustainably and is safe and nutritious; 3) Communities affected by crises have social cohesion and inclusive governance processes established; and 4) People have fair and continuous access to clean water and sanitation facilities for both personal and professional use. We currently work in South Ethiopia, Gambella, Gambella, Oromia, Somalia, and Afar, six regional states. Mercy Corps Ethiopia collaborates with a wide range of funders, such as the European Union, GAC, Hilton Foundation, United Nations (UN), JOA, Sweden, EKN, and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), to enable individuals to overcome adversity, improve their lives, and permanently change their communities.
